In keeping with our Core Knowledge Curriculum, every Friday is Science Discovery Day at Meadows Academy.
Each class gets to work on their own hands-on science discovery project with their teacher. Last Friday, students learned more about pumpkins and the different seasons.
The entire group also participated in the Discover Wind Science Activity. We had 2 Science Discovery Stations. In the first station, we read “Pumpkin, Pumpkin” by Jeanne Titherington and after the read-aloud, students colored a pumpkin and wrote the numbers 1 to 4 next to pictures that described the sequence of how pumpkins grow.
In the second station, we read “What Makes the Seasons” by Megan Montague Cash. Students created a Four Seasons project and identified the colors that best described each season through a coloring activity.
