Marshmallow Mugs

In Language Arts, early preschoolers learned about the Letter M and worked on Letter M alphabet activities. They warmed up to painting a “Mug with Marshmallows In It!”After covering the mug with brown paint, they counted and pasted 5 little white marshmallows inside their mug.

In Math, students made “5 Little Monkeys Hand Prints.” To help students recognize the upper case M, they used dot-a-dot paint on a picture of a “Mouse Magician.”
Early preschoolers listened to the read-aloud “Letter M Book” by Moncure. Students discovered and touched Letter M objects that came out of the “Magic Alphabet Bag.”They also saw the realistic photo cards beginning with the Letter M: mouse, monkey, marshmallow, moose, Minnie Mouse, and magazine. These photo cards helped students develop an awareness of the beginning sound of M.
In Nursery Rhymes and Songs, we learned about “Little Miss Muffet” and “Five Little Monkeys.” Students continued to sing the “Alphabet Song” and “The Wheels on the Bus.”

At home:  Please review letters A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L and M. Review the sound of M with your child.
