Despite the very short week last week, pre-k students were off to a good start for the year! They learned about the months of the year and listened to “January Brings The Snow,” by Sara Coleridge, a lovely rhyme about seasons changing each month.
We also spent some time sharing about the season of “winter” and students enjoyed several fun winter stories including “Max and Maggie in the Winter,” by Janet Craig; “No Snow for Seth” by Jean Davis Callaghan; “Little Critter: Just A Snowman” by Mercer Mayer; and “Snow” by Nancy Elizabeth Wallace.
Students also enjoyed reading the poem, “Blue” as they highlighted words and created wonderful illustrations describing the poem.
In Writing, students continued to practice letter “n” formation and in Math, students were introduced to “geoboards” and explored creating new shapes using them.
