“In the City, In the Country” is our theme for this month of February. Students learned about “Ground Hog Day”: we watched a video about a mythical groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, who saw his shadow which meant that we would have 6 more weeks of winter! Brrrr!
More importantly, though, students learned that we must always be positive and look forward to good things. Re-read to your child the wonderful character education story “Be Positive” by Cheri Meiners. A sense of optimism is a key ingredient to success in life! Wouldn’t you agree?
It was also Mrs. Coltharp’s birthday last week and students celebrated with her by making their own birthday cards! They also greeted her with flowers and a cake in the hallway. Happy birthday!
