“May I Please?” by Kyla Steinkraus was the Virtue of the Month read-aloud for early preschoolers. The book teaches young children good manners with real world examples and photos. It is part of the Little World Social Skills book series designed to help children handle daily situations with strength of character. As they listened to the story, early preschoolers learned the words “please” and “thank you.”
Another read-aloud students listened to last week was “Learning to be Kind.”
In Reading, students continued to review the Letter R and learned the Letter S. They enjoyed listening to the read-aloud, “Rosie Rabbit’s Radish” by Wendy Lewison. They were introduced to the Letter S and made a slithering Sammy the Snake craft.
“Rainbows in the Sky” was a beautiful visual arts and science activity that filled their hearts with wisdom and wonder. Rainbow starts with the Letter R. They learned that red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple were colors of the rainbow. It was also a great sensory activity in which early preschoolers pasted fuzzy cotton balls on the clouds.
In Math, students listened to the read-aloud “My First Book of Numbers” from Crayola. They also worked on their Number 3 and Number 4 booklet in Math.
