Preschoolers listened to the read-aloud “I Didn’t Do It” by Sue Graves, which is part of the Our Emotions and Behavior book series. It is a wonderful book that helps to reinforce in young children’s minds that everyone does something wrong sometimes, and that it is always better to be honest and tell the truth.
In Reading, preschoolers listened to “The S Book” by Jane Belk Moncure and worked on the Letter S Collage by pasting a sun on the Letter S. They learned a poem on “President’s Day” (see sidebar) and “Hickory, Dickory Dock.”
In Science Discovery, students learned about Animal Families. They enjoyed watching an episode of “Country Mouse and City Mouse” and video clips on some animals. They discussed how some animal babies stay with their parents and some do not. The students colored the animal matching activity page and put it together with a paper fastener.
Parent Tip: Telling the truth is not always easy, especially for young children. Talk to your child about why it is importance to tell the truth.
