The Dino-Hearts joined the entire Meadows community today in celebrating the life and works of Dr. Seuss! We began our afternoon by heading straight to a rhyming game and then to the book, “There’s a Wocket in my Pocket!” We talked for a few moments about how Dr. Seuss loved to rhyme and how he was really a word family expert. We will continue to do Seuss activities for the rest of the week.
The Lorax was our featured story today because we are going to begin to discuss growth and the earth as we move on toward….Spring! So on that frame we watched The Lorax movie together, made Lorax masks and our very own Truffula trees too. At the end of class, each child took a seed and placed it in a baggie to be hung on the window. We will watch and see what happens over the next few weeks.
We will be reading lots of Dr. Seuss books tomorrow and Friday. If your family has a favorite Seuss book, please send it in and we will share your favorite tomorrow or Friday with the class!
Have a great night!
Mrs. L. 🙂
