Meadows Academy joined thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers across the country in celebrating “Read Across America Week” that takes place annually on week of the birthday of Dr. Seuss which is March 2nd. Did you know that Dr. Seuss wrote more than 40 books? He also drew all the pictures in his books!
Our Cat in the Hat Day last Wednesday was a super fun day! Students came to school dressed up in their favorite storybook character!
We planned 3 “Cat in the Hat” Centers for everyone to rotate around. In the Story time Center, Mrs. Kuchler read a few Dr. Seuss classics like “The Cat in the Hat” and “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.” In the Rhyming Center, Mrs. Etchison played a “Green Eggs and Ham” interactive rhyming game while holding up picture cards pasted on a popsicle stick. In the Creative Center, Mrs. Bolongaita gave the students a picture of “One Fish, Two Fish” to paint red, blue or green.
March Into Optimism
Our Virtue of the Month for March is Optimism. Let’s teach our children to be cheerful, joyful and to smile!
