If You’re Happy and You Know It!

Optimism is the virtue of the month this March, and our featured story is “If You’re Happy and You Know It!” a sing-along action book by Jane Cabrera.

Part of our mission at Meadows Academy is to reinforce in students the virtues they are learning at home while they are in school. One way we accomplish this is through reading character education stories that illuminate a chosen virtue in a way that children can easily appreciate and understand. The Virtue of the Month Program complements all subjects we teach to help prepare students for kindergarten and beyond.

Talk to your child at the end of their day and ask them about the virtue of the month story they listened to in school. What did they enjoy about the story? What does the virtue mean for them? How can they practice it? This mutual reinforcement in learning virtues at home and in school goes a long way in fostering self-control, organization, and responsibility in children.
