We are working hard in the Dino-Heart room and if our work is finished by Friday then we get to have a Friday Fun Day! A few of our friends had some writing and handwriting to practice to finish but everyone was able to enjoy the fun project we had out today. In honor of our Artist of the month-Seurat, we did an art project today using the point of a pencil and some tissue paper. This is actually a great fine motor activity for young ones as well. We started our work by focusing on the first letter of our last name and some enjoyed going to the next step –flowers! “April showers brings May flowers!” is our theme lately. We sang rainy day songs yesterday and today and even did a “make your own rainstorm” movement together. All of these activities of singing and art come together to help our kiddos not only have fun but learn how to listen carefully, follow multiple directions, and work carefully.
As a part of our Friday Fun Day, we brought the block center in the hallway for our Dino-Heart friends to work together to build something in the hallway. There are lots of strong leaders in our group which is wonderful! However, working together to build 1 structure with blocks can be more of a challenge. So we faced this challenge head on and started by reviewing some of the Dino-Heart rules before we started the building center. We reviewed the rules the Dino-Hearts wanted to be a part of the classroom. In the end they went to the hall with enthusiasm and the picture was the end result. So proud of the Dino-Hearts!
Have a great weekend!
Monday we will dive deeper into words we can break apart in our reading! Book bags due Monday!
