Little Mouse and the Big Cupcake

In Reading, the early preschoolers were so happy to listen to Grandma Becky (Bryn’s Grandma) share the read-aloud, “Little Mouse and the Big Cupcake” by Thomas Taylor, illustrated by Jill Barton.

In Nursery Rhymes, students sang some fun Barney songs like “I Love You,” “Little Red Wagon,” “If You’re Happy and You Know It.” They visited the other classrooms and sang the “I Love You” song to everyone there too!

In Science, students played with rubber ducks in a water tub to see them float. For Science Discovery, we headed to the zoo with the rest of the school and learned about brown bears, black bears, and polar bears.

In Social Skills and Autonomy, the class played the “Roll the Ball” Game. Each student sat in a big circle and sang the song, “Roll the Ball.” The teacher would roll the ball to each student and they, in turn, would roll the ball back while singing the song. Students learned how to take turns and practiced patience while waiting to receive the ball.
