St. Nick visited us last week and the children could not contain their excitement! It was pure joy to see smiles on everyone’s face.
In Reading, early preschoolers listened to several read-alouds including “Lion Learns to Listen“, a Values and Virtues Book; “The Grouchy Ladybug” by Eric Carle; “Skip to My Lou”; and “My L Book” by Jane Moncure.
In Nursery Rhymes, we sang “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”, “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary”, and “Old King Cole”.
In Language, early preschoolers learned about the uppercase L and the sound of L. They played with objects that start with L: stuffed lions (Nala and Simba), Leap Frog Lily, a lady bug toy, and a little girl doll. They made several crafts including a Lion Craft, Letter L Collage, Lion Coloring Page, Letter Stickers, and a Letter L Dot-A-Dot page.
In Math, we sang “Six Little Ducks” and counted up to 6. We played a numbers game to help students recognize numbers 1-6.
In Visual Arts, early preschoolers decorated a snowman craft and painted a paper light with glitter.
In Virtue of the Month, we talked about the importance of listening. Early preschoolers listened to the story “Let’s be Polite” by P.K. Hallinan, a book with short simple text and bright illustrations that show children how to be polite at home.
