It was a fun Dr. Seuss week filled with a different theme each day for the Pre-K and Kindergarten Class! And last Wednesday, the whole school celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day! All the kids loved the read-aloud “Hooray for Saint Patrick’s Day” by Joan Holub, a fun and engaging book for children to learn about the holiday. Students play the “Toss and Catch the Leprechaun Bean Bag” game, and a small black pot of gold was given to each child after they caught the bean bag. What a lucky day!
Everything was topsy turvy that day as we celebrated Wacky Wednesday with surprises everywhere. Students did not expect to see a shoe on the wall; books upside down; friends wearing super silly outfits to school; one of their teachers sitting on the top dog chair; and everything else pretty much out of sorts! The children absolutely enjoyed listening to “Wacky Wednesday” by Dr. Seuss about a youngster who wakes up one morning to find everything’s out of place, but no one seemed to notice. They had fun discovering all the wacky things wrong on each page while sharpening their ability to observe, as well as to read.
What an awesome week for students as they created “Cat in the Hat” crafts, wore silly socks to school, and dressed up in green!
