Last week in Reading, preschoolers listened to “My T Book” by Jane Belk Moncure. Students also listened to the read-aloud “Patience (Everyday Character Education)” by Rebecca Olien, a book about the virtue and the everyday situations where this character trait can be used or practiced.
In Nursery Rhymes, students recited “Presidents Game” and “Do You Brush Your Teeth?”
In Language Arts, preschoolers learned about the Letter T through fun activities geared towards helping them recognize objects that begin with the Letter T. For instance, in the Dramatic Play Center, there was a pretend tiger, turtle, pretend tomatoes, and teddy bears. The Tool Center had various tools and the Game Center was equipped with a tic-tac-toe game for them to play.
At home, reinforce what your child learned by playing this fun Follow the T’s to the Tooth Activity.
In Math and Writing, preschoolers practiced writing Number 15 and 16 and the Letter S.
In Kodaly Music, We had such a fun time singing the songs Mister Sun; Sally God Round the Sun; and Hallelu, Hallelu while taking turns playing with tambourines and shakers with lyric cues. Students also made rain and thunder sounds with sand blocks. Then the children listened to the “Story of Creation” from the bible and we sang the “Creation Song” together.
