Everyone was quite excited to be back in school after a long winter break!
In Reading last week, early preschoolers listened to several read-aloud books including “The L Book” by Jane Moncure; “Puppy in the Snow” by James Young; and “A Splendid Friend, Indeed” by Suzanne Bloom.
In Nursery Rhymes, the class sang “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” and in Language Arts, early preschoolers made several creative language arts activities such as a “L Collage Craft,” “Letter L with Bingo Markers,” and a “Name Recognition Activity.” And then in Visual Arts, students made a “Handprint Lion Craft” and “Lion Craft Painting Activity.”
In Math, early preschoolers measured and counted icicles. In Science Discovery, students listened to the Scholastic Magazine weekly reading story and learned about objects that can freeze, versus those that can melt.
In Autonomy and Social Skills and Work Habits, for the month of January, early preschoolers will be learning about the virtue of sincerity and honesty.
We’re off to a good start for 2018! Happy new year!
